HOW CAN WE FIGHT TERRORISM? PT 1.

Car Bomb, Fire Bomb, Car Accident, Bomb

Exactly what is TERRORISM?

-  What are the Goals behind it, and what are the Motivations?

-  Do the Methods Used by Terrorists Work, in Achieving the Desired Goals?

-  Are the Tactics of Terrorists Self- Defeating, always Doomed to Failure, or are They Practical, and Often lead to Success?

-  Should Terrorist Tactics be Answered in Kind?

The First Question that must be Addressed is simply, what is TERRORISM?

First, Terrorism is not an Ideology, it is a Means to an End. There are no Specific Set of Rules or Written Doctrine that Encompasses all Terrorist Groups and Individuals, and no Identifiable Code of Law or Morality that is Universal in Nature.

To Clarify, I will Define TERRORISM as : THE USE OF VIOLENCE, OR THREAT OF SUCH, TO ADVANCE THE DOCTRINE, IDEOLOGY, RULES, OR GOALS OF A GIVEN AND IDENTIFIABLE GROUP THAT IS NOT GENERALLY REGARDED AS A LEGITIMATE POLITICAL ENTITY, OR THE RECOGNIZED LEGAL AUTHORITY FOR A RESIDENT POPULATION OR GEOGRAPHICAL AREA.

HOWEVER, THE TARGETS OF SUCH VIOLENCE ARE NOT TRADITIONAL, SUCH AS MILITARY INSTALLATIONS AND GOVERNMENTAL OFFICES. CIVILIAN POPULATION CENTERS, BUSINESS AND CONSUMER DISTRICTS, AND PLACES OF RELIGIOUS WORSHIP BECOME THE PREFERRED AREAS TO CREATE DEATH AND DESTRUCTION.  THE DESIRE IS TO ESTABLISH A DISRUPTION IN NORMAL ACTIVITIES, AND A GENERAL SENSE OF PANIC AMONG THOSE WHO FREQUENT, OR LIVE IN THESE AREAS.

THE PURPOSE-  CREATE AN ATMOSPHERE THAT WILL CAUSE THE CIVILIAN/MERCHANT POPULATION TO  BECOME SO TRAUMATIZED AND FRIGHTENED, THAT IT FORCES THE POLITICAL/GOVERNMENTAL POWERS RESPONSIBLE FOR ADMINISTERING AND PROTECTING THESE AREAS, TO GRANT CONCESSIONS, ENTER INTO NEGOTIATIONS, OR AGREE TO THE STATED GOALS AND POLICIES OF THE TERRORIST ORGANIZATION.

The Terrorist(s) are not Interested in the Traditional Types of Warfare and Combat.
WHY?  Because They Usually Lack the Numbers and Quality of Combatants and Armaments to Engage in Set Piece Battles.  So to Attack Military and Civilian Strong Points that are Well Protected would be Useless.  The Terrorists would be going up against Forces Designed and Trained to Meet, Engage, and Defeat Opposing Forces Conducting Normal Combat Operations.

Is Terrorism a New Phenomena, or can we Find Examples in other Parts of Human History?  Is it an External Threat Alone, or is there an Internal Danger Just as Dangerous and Potentially Destructive.

LOOK FOR PART 2.

We're on a roll. MARK HERRING.

David,
Because of your support over the years, I get to come to work every single day and fight for justice, equality, and opportunity for ALL Virginians.

As...Attorney General I’m fighting back against Trump’s awful and illegal moves to attack immigrants, take away your healthcare, and sell-off our environment to oil and gas companies.

We’re also fighting for commonsense gun safety legislation, protecting consumers and veterans from scams, and combating the rise in white supremacist violence.

Check out just some of the headlines from the last few weeks:

Supporting Washington's natural resources. BOB FERGUSON.

Hi David,

Washington state is home to many precious natural resources, from Puget Sound to the Colville National Forest. It is a major reason that so many of us choose to call this place home. As a fourth-generation Washingtonian, I’m proud of my family’s history homesteading on the beautiful Skagit River. I’ve hiked hundreds of miles of Washington trails and climbed many of the state's highest peaks, and shared many of these experiences with my young kids, Jack and Katie.

I take my work as attorney general protecting Washington’s environment and public lands seriously. We have an obligation to ensure we can not only continue enjoying our environment but, most importantly, also preserve the health and safety of future generations living on this planet. That’s why I have filed 25 lawsuits against President Trump and his administration to protect Washington state’s environment and public lands.

I defeated the Trump administration’s efforts to loosen regulations on gillnetting, which threatens dolphins, humpback whales, sea turtles, and other endangered marine wildlife.

I defeated the Trump administration’s attempt to restart federal coal leasing on public lands without evaluating the environmental and health impacts.

And remember when Trump and his corrupt Secretary of the Interior proposed opening up Washington’s coast to offshore drilling? I told them they would see me in court. I organized the “Save Our Coast” hike with scientists, conservationists, tribal leaders, authors, poets, environmental and elected leaders to draw attention to Washington’s wild coast. The result? The Trump administration backed down.

More than half of the 46 lawsuits I’ve filed against Trump and half of the victories we’ve won in court (21-0) have been focused on preserving our state’s land, water, and air.

But right now, Washington’s public lands are being threatened not only by the Trump administration but also by powerful special interests and the politicians in their pockets who want to sell our natural resources off.

As...Attorney General, I will continue fighting for the health and well-being of our environment -- because we can’t afford for our natural resources, or our future, to end up in the wrong hands.

-Bob

BREAKING: Trump backs away from gun safety. JENNIFER WEXTON.

We need to double down on our push for gun violence prevention legislation.
Like he always does, Donald Trump just caved to the whims of the gun lobby.

Immediately after the mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton earlier this month, Trump said there was a “great appetite” for universal background checks.

But this week, during a phone call with Wayne LaPierre of the NRA, Trump said that background checks were off the table. He then echoed the NRA’s talking points about a “slippery slope” if we start passing basic gun safety measures.

This political cowardice is why we fail to prevent mass shootings time and again. Jennifer is determined to make this time different.

Universal background checks have overwhelming public support and could pass Congress with a veto-proof majority. So we need to demand Mitch McConnell not to cave in to the NRA as Trump has.

David, add your name immediately and demand that McConnell allow a vote on universal background checks. We need 10,000 signatures this week to maintain the public pressure!
Thank you,

Team Wexton
